For LitRPG and progression fantasy serials

Your LitRPG stays consistent, from chapter 1 to chapter 500.

PlotWrite (plotwrite.ink) is a web app for LitRPG and progression fantasy serial authors. You write. It reads your chapters, remembers every stat, rank, skill and promise, and catches the slip before your Royal Road readers do.

The PlotWrite editor on chapter 12 of a LitRPG serial. An AI suggestion continues the scene in tinted text, waiting for Accept or Reject, while the side panel lists what the AI read from the story brain: Kael is Silver rank since chapter 9 and level 21 since chapter 11.
Kael Varro's status window as of chapter 12: level 21, Silver rank. In Claude, through the PlotWrite connector, the writer asks for chapter 13 in their voice. PlotWrite's canon check catches a rank that went backwards in the draft and it's fixed, then the draft is saved to PlotWrite to review.

    Sound familiar?

Every long LitRPG serial hits these.

    • “What were her stats in chapter 47?”

    • “My stat sheet is three chapters behind my draft.”

    • “I moved one scene and broke the progression timeline.”

    • “Did I already promise that in chapter 12?”

    • “Half my writing time goes to spreadsheets.”

    • “Readers caught my rank flip in the comments.”

We had them too. So PlotWrite reads your chapters and keeps the ledger for you.

    No API key needed

Bring the subscription you already have.

Most writing tools sell AI credits or ask for an API key. Connect your Claude Pro or Max, or ChatGPT Plus plan in 3 steps: your plan does the writing, and PlotWrite keeps the story.

    • ClaudePro or Max
    • ChatGPTPlus or Pro

Anthropic and OpenAI decide which plans can add connectors. Details in the FAQ.

    1. 1

      Add PlotWrite as a connector

In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector and paste the PlotWrite URL from your settings.

    2. 2

      Sign in to PlotWrite

Approve it once. That's the whole setup.

    3. 3

      Write in Claude or ChatGPT

Ask for chapter 13. It reads your story brain, Style DNA and threads, and saves the draft to PlotWrite for you to accept.

Prefer your own key? Connect OpenRouter in one click, paste any API key, or run a local model with LM Studio.

    The In-Between

Every promise and storyline, and which ones went quiet.

The power climb, the rivalry, the slow-burn romance, the debt your MC swore to clear: each one moves a little every chapter. PlotWrite shows every thread from A to B across your chapters, helps you plan the beats in between, and tells you when one goes quiet.

One thread, Climb the Hollow Spire: A, an Iron-rank scavenger drowning in the Ashfall Tithe; now, Silver rank at the Ninth Floor gate; B, clears the Ninth Floor and breaks the Tithe. It last moved in chapter 12 and should move about every 2 chapters.

See every thread across your chapters, lane by lane

    Consistent, and easy to see

How do you keep a LitRPG System consistent for 500 chapters?

Keep every fact by the chapter it became true, and check each new chapter against it. PlotWrite does both, so a rank that flips or a skill that changes its name gets caught before readers say so in the comments.

    • Stat sheets as of any chapter

The status window your readers saw at chapter 11, and what changed since chapter 10.

Kael Varro's stat sheet at chapter 11: level 21 (up 3 since chapter 10), rank Silver, class Ember Warden, AGI 27 (up 3), INT 12 (up 1).
    • A timeline for every fact

Silver from ch 9, Bronze in 5 to 8, Iron in 1 to 4. A later rank never leaks into an earlier chapter.

The history of Kael's level and rank: level 21 from chapter 11, 18 in chapters 8 to 10, 12 in 4 to 7, 7 in 1 to 3; rank Silver from chapter 9, Bronze in 5 to 8, Iron in 1 to 4.
    • A canon check that quotes both sides

A rank going backwards, a dead character walking, a broken System rule: caught before you post.

Check chapter 12: Kael shows a Bronze badge. This chapter says he flashed his Bronze badge; the story brain says the badge in his palm was silver now. Kael has been Silver rank since chapter 9, and the Spire System says ranks never go down. A fix is suggested.

How it handles your genre: LitRPG, progression fantasy and cultivation.

    Auto-write

    Optional

Give it your premise and the in‑between. It drafts the chapters.

Only when you want a first draft. Everything above works without it.

    1. Your premise, A to B

An Iron-rank scavenger in debt → breaks the Ashfall Tithe.

    2. The in-between

The Spire climb, the rivalry, the slow-burn romance.

    3. Beats

Planned for each chapter from your threads and story brain.

    4. Drafted chapters

In your voice and canon-checked. Approve them one by one, or turn on auto-accept.

Auto-write runs in the background on an API key or Connect OpenRouter. With the Claude or ChatGPT connector, you draft chapter by chapter in the chat.

Honest note: if you post AI-written text, Royal Road asks for an AI tag. Memory, checks and planning don't need one. Royal Road's AI policy, explained

Built by a Royal Road author.

I write LitRPG on Royal Road. I drafted my serial with an early AI tool, and readers caught what it missed: my main character's rank and identity flipping between chapters. They were right, and they said so in the reviews. So I rebuilt PlotWrite around what I actually needed: something that reads every chapter, remembers every stat and promise, and catches the slip before a chapter ships.

Questions writers ask before they start

    What is PlotWrite?

PlotWrite (plotwrite.ink) is a web app for LitRPG and progression fantasy web serial authors that reads the chapters you write, keeps every stat, rank, skill and promise in a Story brain timed by chapter, and catches contradictions before your Royal Road readers do. You write; drafting with AI is optional. It runs on your own AI: your ChatGPT or Claude subscription, an API key, or a model on your own computer.

    Every featurePlotWrite for LitRPG

Can I use my ChatGPT or Claude subscription?

Yes. Add PlotWrite as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT and sign in once. Your plan runs the model, so there are no credits to buy and no API key. Anthropic and OpenAI decide which plans can add connectors, and Auto-write needs an API key or Connect OpenRouter because it runs in the background.

    Details in the FAQ

Do I need an AI tag on Royal Road if I use PlotWrite?

Not for memory, checks and planning. Royal Road's AI policy says back-office help such as brainstorming and research doesn't need mentioning, and that is what the Story brain, canon check and Plan do. If you paste AI-written text into a chapter, from Draft with AI, Auto-write or a chat, Royal Road asks for an AI tag. Tag-free mode hides every tool that writes prose.

Every feature, mapped to the policy

How is PlotWrite different from Sudowrite or NovelCrafter?

Sudowrite and NovelCrafter are good AI writing apps, but you keep their Story Bible or Codex up to date by hand, and neither checks your chapters against canon. PlotWrite builds LitRPG stat sheets from the chapters you've written, checks each chapter against what was true at that point, and runs on your ChatGPT or Claude plan. NovelCrafter says subscriptions can't be used with it, and Sudowrite runs on its own credits.

The full comparisonPlotWrite vs SudowritePlotWrite vs NovelCrafter

Does PlotWrite train AI on my chapters?

No. PlotWrite never uses your story to train AI models, and you own 100% of what you write. When you use AI, the text a request needs goes to the AI you chose (ChatGPT, Claude or your API provider) under that provider's own terms. With LM Studio it stays on your computer.

    How we handle your story

    Is there a free trial?

Yes: 7 days with everything included, and no card needed. After that, Storyteller is $14 a month and Architect is $24 a month, or $140 and $240 a year. PlotWrite never charges for AI, during the trial or after.

    Compare plans

Can I export my story to Word or EPUB?

Yes. Export any chapter to Word (.docx), plain text or Markdown, or the whole book to Word, EPUB, Markdown or plain text with a title page and a table of contents. Chapter and book export are free on every plan, even after your trial. Story brain export and full project backups come with the paid plans.

Can PlotWrite carry my story into Book 2?

Yes. Start the next book, and PlotWrite carries your Story brain pages, each character's stats as of the last chapter, relationships, active threads and Style DNA into it. The AI and the checks also read matching scenes from earlier books, so Book 3 still remembers Book 1.
